Working in remote locations comes with risks, including the challenge of ensuring workers can call for help when needed. Imagine a worker encountering an unexpected hazard, like stepping into a bog and suddenly struggling to reach their satellite device. Even with the right equipment, limited movement in a crisis could leave them unable to call for help.

This highlights the unpredictability of remote work environments and the need for having systems in place to support workers in the field. Although you may think your teams are well-equipped, situations like this highlight the need for an additional layer of protection to ensure your workers are kept safe.

KUDO Connect

Unlike a satellite device that relies on a worker physically activating it, KUDO Connect’s Web Portal ensures that if someone fails to book off via the Connect mobile app as expected, Connect alerts the primary buddy. In cases where a worker is unreachable, this visibility allows monitoring teams to escalate concerns and coordinate a response as needed.

KUDO Command

Alternatively, if the Safety Events feature had been in place, available through our KUDO Command solution, a previous worker could have reported the danger using the mobile app and alerted the surveyor to the risk before they arrived.

By ensuring that workforce movements are logged and monitored and site risks are highlighted, KUDO’s solutions provide an additional layer of oversight, helping to spot potential safety risks before they escalate. While no system can prevent every incident, having either KUDO Connect or KUDO Command in place is the best approach to significantly reduce the risk of prolonged delays which could be the difference between life and death in emergency situations.
