Meet Kevin, our Head of Product here at KUDO. Kevin is a prominent face in the industry who would be happy to say hello to everyone. We asked him some questions all about what he gets up to and how he ended up in his role at KUDO
How did you get into this industry?
When I moved to Southwest Scotland, I could only find temporary work in Education. I was seeking new opportunities and found a chance to work for Natural Power, a local renewable energy consultancy.
Working for Natural Power was a refreshing change from my previous job. It offered me a new opportunity to explore the world of renewable energy and make a positive impact.
What was your career path?
My path was from Postgraduate studies in Computing and Education, from where I became a lecturer in IT and Business, then a supply teacher, before pursuing a change of career direction into Renewable Energy Operations.
What’s an after-work hobby of yours?
One of my hobbies is attending live music events - I try to catch a new gig every couple of weeks if my schedule allows for it.
What’s a fun fact about you?
When I was at school, it was called Morning Worship or something like that, a church service. I once sang live (unaccompanied) on the radio for an audience of over a million people. I led the plainsong for our choir. It was live on Radio 4, and I would have been around 16 years old at the time.
What’s the best career advice you have ever received?
Reflection.
Always go home and take 10 minutes to review your day and identify what went well or poorly.
What career advice would you give someone wanting to be in your role?
Have patience.
Don’t expect success with everything you try, and don’t allow failures to get you down.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
I’d love to go to New Zealand to go and watch a Test Cricket Series.
