Scott Banner is one of our Customer Success Managers here at KUDO. With a background in recruitment and a passion for helping people get the most from the tools they use, he’s spent the last few years supporting teams across CRM, Health and Safety, and Healthcare. Now at KUDO, Scott’s focus is on building strong relationships and making sure our customers succeed.
We took some time to ask him a few questions about his career journey, his interests outside of work, and what Customer Success means to him.
How did you get into this industry?
Working as a Customer Success Manager over the last few years, I knew that in my role, I was able to make a difference at a business level. Moving into the Health and Safety and Healthcare sectors, I knew that my impact would reach a much wider audience and make a difference to peoples lives outside of “the client”. Moving into the Renewable Energy industry was a no brainer for me. Being part of an industry that’s key goal is working towards a brighter future, was an industry that I knew I wanted to be a part of.
What was your career path to the role you are in now?
Initially working in the recruitment industry, I used my experience to make the move over to Customer Success for a CRM provider to help users get the best value using the product, for both the business, and the end users. From there, I then continued my Customer Success journey in the coming years working in both the Health and Safety and the Healthcare sector.
What is an after-work hobby of yours?
If you’re not finding me working, you’ll more than likely find me gaming. From survival to RPG games. You name it, I’ve played it.
What is a fun fact about you?
I once featured on the back page of every Scottish newspaper for dressing up as a Nintendo character and snapping a selfie with a certain, well-known, football player.
What do you enjoy most about working for KUDO?
At KUDO, everyone has a voice. No matter what your position, feedback is always welcomed with open arms.
What is the best career advice anyone has ever given you?
At the end of the day, we are all human, and everyone will make mistakes. Every mistake is an opportunity for improvement. Be honest, be transparent, and work towards ways of making your processes and procedures that little bit smoother.
What career advice would you give someone wanting to be in your role?
Customer Success is all about asking the right questions. Have an inquisitive nature. Don’t be scared to ask questions. And most importantly, be reliable. Customer Success is a lot more than just managing an account. It’s about building relationships and gaining trust. If you can master that, then Customer Success
